Hemel Rovers’ experience proved too strong for the young Knebworth side.
Roving Reporter reports…
Hemel Hempstead Rovers 4, Knebworth Seniors 1 – 23/11/2024
The Ks were 2-0 down at half time having played against the slope. The talking point during the break amongst the spectators was the bizarre second goal; Hemel’s corner hit a tree (viewed by some to be off the pitch) and so the corner was re-taken, from which the goal occurred.
Hemel played the conditions better than Knebworth and prospered further in the second half with two more goals. Joe Smith’s consolation goal came late on.
Hemel Rovers maintained their 100% home win record and stay hot on the heels of table-toppers Norsemen.
The Ks are back on the road next Saturday, 30 November, with a trip to Sun Sports; fixtures list here.
